Starting the Main floor

The floor sheathing is glued and nailed to the floor joists.  The construction glue is polyurethane and actually sets better when moisture is present – a definite asset in this neck of the woods.

With the floor completely sheathed, the next thing will be Walls!

The first thing up are the Simpson steel Strong Walls in the corners of the living room.  They are directly above the Strong Walls on the lower floor.

They were secured to the Strong Walls on the lower floor with 1 inch bolts.  With these in place, we should expect to see some wall framing to go up soon – possibly tomorrow.

This is a photo of the safety barrier put up around the opening where the stair case will go.  It is an example of the fine mill work we can expect in the finished house!!
